Cow Pow
Hybrid Cow Pow (Already 1.6m tall only 4 weeks after being cut)

COW POW is a fine stemmed forage sorghum that is photoperiod sensitive, ensuring it is ultra late flowering. If it is planted after mid October it will not go into head until mid Autumn. This ensures ease of management, particularly over large areas for sheep and cattle grazing or for hay production. It is well suited to dryland and irrigated situations.

Grazing management

Cow Pow is ultra late flowering but this does not mean grazing should beunnecessarily delayed. It is still recommended to use the crop when it is around 1m tall. Under favourable conditions this height should be reached approximately six weeks after sowing. Also under favourable conditions its regrowth is rapid allowing the potential for multiple grazings throughout the season.

Ideal for grazing, greenchop or hay production. Cow Pow is a versatile all rounder hybrid, ideally suited to either intensive or range grazing. It can also be used for greenchop or for making hay, round bale or pit silage.

Excellent option for green manure crop. Cow Pow produces a large amount of bulk and is easy to manage due to its ultra late flowering if planted after Mid October, in optimum soil temperatures.

In a trial conducted in the Ord River Valley, Western Australia, Cow Pow was the most delayed flowering of all delayed flowering hybrids currently on the market.
